‘noori’, if translated literally, means “made out of light”, and it is on this very premise that this band was conceived. ‘noori’ endeavors to communicate a sense of vigor, zeal and a passion for life amongst the younger generation. The music of ‘noori’ is fresh and versatile. It has been created with a clear motive to break the mould of repetitive and formula based approach to music, so commonly followed in Pakistan. Comprising four members; Ali Noor, Ali Hamza, Mohammed Ali Jafri and John Louis Pinto II, a.k.a. Gumby, ‘noori’ through its live performances wishes to establish an energetic rapport with its audience. Though a newcomer in the Pakistani music scene, ‘noori’ aspires to remain consistent and pursue its goals with a far sighted perseverance.
