- That's Life Review:
By Saad Khalid
Salman Anwer's re-recorded instrumental That's Life is as deep as the life itself. God created so much in this life, some things we understand and some things we are not able to. Sometimes, we have joy and sometimes mourning; sometimes we have to take hard decisions for the sake of better future and sometimes we have to sacrifice certain things for the betterment of ourselves and our loved ones. But even still, life is a mystery, and no matter how much we fathom deep into this sea, we would never be able to touch its depth.
Salman Anwer very efficiently tried to capture the colors of life in this instrumental. With powerful theme behind, this instrumental appears to be a moving picture of life where good and bad events seem to pass like a film. Sometimes you lose, sometimes you are successful, sometimes you have to bear shocks of deceiving and unfaithfulness but still on the other hand, you have your loved ones who never desert you and you can always lean on them. The instrumental has a continual factor showing that life itself is continuous. You face many things of different nature in your time, but your life goes on and on, you just never get stuck at one place and keep moving on your way. The instrumental ends on a note with a tone of finality that elaborates the fact that life has to end and there's no denying from it.
The genre of That's Life is rock, more specifically of the rock style of 1980s when western acts like Def Leppard and Bon Jovi used to rock the world. A combination of both synth and guitar, That's Life contains a powerful electric guitar lead. The sequence of all instruments is taken well care of as every instrument, may it be guitar, synth or bass comes at its proper time to strengthen the composition. It enhances the fact that the instrumental is a well drawn picture of life since life also goes on in a particular sequence of events. The various instruments actually mark the events and factors of one's life and efficiently describe various behaviors of this complex world.
As Neil Melvin who is one of the renowned western music critics has said, Thats Life is an instrumental, which would appeal to a wide range of people because it is so melodic. It has a deep sound, a sound with depth one might say, it can be said with as surety that you would love Thats Life. Do listen to Salman Anwers Thats Life and you will not help praising the strong composition and a powerful theme with the speedy guitar playing.
