salam,
hey i have got a problem that i have windows xp and it is installed in my drive d so the problem is that the space of my drive has been reducing for a month and by now it has reduced to 1 GB i mean that my disk covers 2 gb and it shows that it covers 3 gb so there is a difference of 1 GB I have installed norton antivirus 2003 and it says that my pc is infected with 1 virus called w32 welchia worm and it is unable to repair or remove it so plz let me know that is it due to virus or there is someother reason behing it?????????

i think u must know that which file contain this virus, if u get it which file is this do one thing try to stop this file using your [task manager] select the file and [end task] it, may be the reason of not cleaning the file is that the file may be running and your AV is not be able to clean that file, do one thing more if the file can't be stop by task manager, if u know how to work in dos then boot your computer with any bootable CD which contain the dos based module, and try to know that where your infected file is, and then delete the file, i think this must solve your problem, but u need to clean your internet temp files and your windows temp files. |

i know what prob u r facing.... first of all unpredictable let me tell u ask one thing that which Operating system (WIndows) are u using.. waise welchia mostly infects XP systems.. so now u just do one thing.... goto control panel > administrative tools > services
and then from there
stop the following two services:
1) WINS Client
2) net connections sharing
After stopping these services run your anti virus and it will thus delete the files..... if you have got any other probs then contact me on my email id:

for unpridictable.
well i can suggest you two simle methods.try disk clean up,if not then tell the person to save your work on cd,and then re install the windows.if you don't want some shocky colors and bright displays.then you better install windows 98se.the best windows ever made(till now). |

u can get a cure for tht on the norton antivirus site... or the symantec site...download the program from the site n juz run it...the virus will be cured |
